Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad
LaGrange, Illinois
Northeast Illinois offers a variety of interesting, educational
and fun activities for families and people of all ages. The western
suburbs of Chicago are ideally situated along the Burlington Northern
Santa Fe railroad, which is served by the Metra railway system.
The 495-mile Metra system serves 230 stations in Cook, DuPage, Lake,
Will, McHenry and Kane counties. On Metra you can reach Chicago's
beautiful lakefront, museums, zoos, sporting events, shops and restaurants,
concerts, special events, schools and colleges as well as quaint,
historic suburbs and small towns.
Stone Avenue Station is located directly across the street from
First National Bank of LaGrange. The interesting design and stone
work of the station makes it unique among the 27 stations along
the Metra Burlington Northern Santa Fe Line from Chicago to Aurora.
Its design is reminiscent of the era in which it was built, reflecting
the architectural style of many historic homes in the area.
