The Index Powered CD
First National Bank of LaGrange is pleased to offer a new deposit product, the Index Powered CD. It is an FDIC insured certificate of deposit tied to the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index®. The Index Powered CD gives you the best of both worlds: your principal is guaranteed and FDIC insured up to $100,000, and you can take advantage of the potential higher returns of the stock market.

We believe the Index Powered CD is particularly well suited for Education IRAs and retirement accounts, such as IRAs and SEPs. In addition, we cannot think of another investment option available that gives you the return of the stock market and the safety of FDIC insurance. It may sound to good to be true, but it isn’t.

It is important to note that the Index Powered CD has a five-year term, and the principal guarantee only applies to customers holding the CD to maturity. If you do not intend to hold the Index Powered CD to maturity, it may not be suitable for your needs. Also there are special considerations concerning taxes, early withdrawal and no guaranteed rate of interest, which need to be considered prior to investment.
